The abuse of the studios as a public asset lasted for a number of years until it was exposed by Labour Councillors.  As early as 2012 Cllr Morris Bright, whilst Chair of the Studios, was billing them thousands of pounds for personal belongings that he sold to them.

When challenged by the professional independent director over misuse of meeting rooms for political purposes, Cllr Bright responded: "are you taking the piss".

When challenged over spending vast sums upgrading already pricey hotel rooms in Cannes on Studio expenses Cllr Bright responded: "maybe [name redacted] likes slumming it..."

Vast sums were spent on Taxi travel when public transport would have been a viable option. Fares regularly approached or exceeded £100 per journey.  Some, like the £140 bill (including waiting time) to Buckingham Palace had to be repaid by Cllr Bright when exposed.

Tens of thousands of pounds of income was forgone by the Studios as a result of this scandal.  As a public asset this is ultimately Council Tax payers money.

As we approach local elections this May, this site - provided as a public service by members of the Borehamwood Labour Party and other local people will highlight the antics of the Tory Tubby administration leading Hertsmere Council.
